EXCERPTS

“Don't be so obvious, you twit!  He is going to think we are a couple of desperate women.  Men like him enjoy a challenge, because I have no doubt he gets panties thrown his way on an hourly basis.  Now, watch and learn.”  

The waitress leaves, going to the next customer who just happens to be Mr. Beautiful. I watch as he talks to the waitress, and he nods his head.  Did he just point to our table? No, I must be paranoid.  What would he tell the waitress? That I'm eye-stalking him? When the waitress leaves, he looks at me and raises an eyebrow. Caught.

The Wayward Path to Love

What happens when a country girl meets a city slicker? All hell breaks loose

After a chaotic morning, Milly is relaxing in her grandma’s rocker on a hot Sunday afternoon, drinking lemonade. When a stranger crashes into her life in a storm of dust, she’s not impressed. Mark has the downtown city attitude down pat. So, Milly decides to teach him how things are done in the country. If you play with fire, you may get burnt, are the rules she plays by. But, when things start to heat up, she wonders-- who will get burned, him or her?  

EXCERPT

"Milly Jennings?” He asked in quite a stern voice.  

His attractiveness was slowly disappearing because apparently the man had no manners. He didn't offer a simple hello, a smile or introduce himself. 

"Well, hello to you too," Milly said.  

There was a snip in her voice. She watched his eye twitch at her words. The man was uptight as far as she could see and he needed manners too. 

"Good afternoon Miss Jennings."

"Good afternoon...."

"Mr. Taylor. Mark Taylor.”

”Well, Mark Taylor, I’m just plain old Milly,” she said and reached out her hand to him. Obviously, his momma neglected to teach him manners. That was an assumption on her part, but he was definitely lacking in politeness department. He grasped her hand with a warm, firm grip, but not too firm.

"Miss Jennings works just fine,” he said.

She shook her head, the man had trouble with basic niceties. 

“Can I get you a lemonade or iced tea Mr. Taylor?” Someone had to have manners and she guessed that'd be her.

”No.”

“Well, what can I do for you Mark?” Milly asked. 

Noticing the eye twitch at her using the name his mother gave him. He was wound up tighter than a coil and she was surprised he didn’t break.

Dressing It Up For Love

Just when you think you’ve had enough of men, someone turns your head in the most unexpected way

Angry with life, Martha, is in no mood to deal with any man. When she bumps into Drake at a coffee shop, he’s just another irritation to add to her growing list of annoyances. When he shows interest, she’s not having any of it. Maybe friends, but nothing more after her last disastrous attempt at a relationship. She wants no man or woman either. Is Drake up for the challenge of changing Martha’s mind? Or will she prove to be too much to handle?

EXCERPT:

“Excuse me,” Martha said. 

The woman looked like she was not going to move. What was wrong with people! The woman begrudgingly moved to the side. Martha gave her a look then moved into the line-up. Feeling irritated by life in general was not good when she was out and about. 

The man in front of her took a step back, so she did too, but she hit a brick wall. She turned around. The brick wall had green eyes, blonde hair, and was actually quite attractive. He gave her a smile, she scowled at him, and he laughed.

“Am I amusing you?” She said. 

Martha was not happy to be talking to anyone. The day was not progressing as expected. She just wished people would back off and leave her alone, so she could get her chai latte in peace. Was that too much to ask? 

“Yes, you are,” he said with his stupid smile.

The Flavor of Love

Sometimes you don’t know love until it leaves you

Marianne is a new to the city and is enjoying her freedom from the past. She’s loving her anonymity of a new start. When grey-eyed man enters her life, she wonders, who is this stranger? Why is he paying her attention? Could he be someone from her former life? And if so, what does he want? 

EXCERPT:

I have a chuckle to myself. Silly woman. When I look up, the strangest thing happens. They meet another pair of eyes that I have never seen before, and they look quite serious. I feel my eyebrows raise. Who is this man with the piercing gray eyes? 

I feel obliged to hold his gaze. And neither one of us is wavering. This reminds me of when I was young girl in a staring contest with the playground bully. I usually got attacked by Billy because I held his gaze longer. I did not back down then, and I sure in the hell wasn’t going to now. This did not seem like it was going to have a fairytale ending either. It felt messy.
